Chevron Infinity Scarf Crochet Pattern

I designed a pattern to create this chevron infinity scarf.
I guess you could call it a cowl, too...

I love how cozy these scarves are, and they are a perfect way to make an outfit more interesting, and keep you warm during cold days.

You can buy this pattern in my Etsy shop.

It is pretty simple, so even for beginners there is no excuse :)

It's an instant download, so as soon as you have paid, you can download the pattern and start working on your scarf!

Crochet Owl Hat

During a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG airplane ride I needed something to keep me
entertained (besides the girl pictured above and her big sisters).
A crochet project seemed great: something portable, and something
that just takes a little more time than I would normally take for a project.

I had seen some pictures of similar hats online,
and since it basically consists of very basic shapes,
I decided no tot use an pattern, but just piece it together.

My daughter was conveniently close,
so occasionally I would try if I was still on track regarding her size.

It was a fun project, but took quite a bit of time, since there are a lot of pieces,
that all need to be finished, and then the whole thing needs to be put together.

But it was a fun project to keep me busy!

And as you can see, she had a LOT of fun modeling it for me.

Still blogging in the "31 for 21" challenge to raise awareness for Down syndrome.

Crochet Chevron Baby Hat

I came up with a crochet pattern for this chevron newborn hat.

I made it as a gift for a sweet little baby a while ago.

I might post the pattern here some time.
That is: if I can find the notes I scribbled down somewhere...

Crochet Doily Coasters

I had fun making these crochet doily coasters.
I like doilies, and these are fun to make, and a nice little addition to our coffee table.

I found the pattern in the newest "Stitch Craft Create" magazine.

I also tried a different pattern to make the coaster below:
These coasters are a little bigger, and the pattern can be found HERE.
It is a neat pattern, but the other ones are quicker to make,
so I decided to stick with the first pattern to make a set.

Doily Love...

A few weeks ago I saw this pretty doily garland on this blog.

Ellen used some colorful doilies to create this awesome garland.

I happened to find the same doilies at Michaels a week or so after I saw her blog post, and I got some with the intention to create a similar garland. They're so cheap, even though I like to crochet myself, at $1 a piece I couldn't resist...
But I liked them so much, that I decided not to cut them up (yet), so for now I use them as a table runner instead:

I like the instant pop of color it adds to our decor.

This is such a fun and easy project.

You can just sew them together using some transparent thread.

Or even skip the sewing all together, and just lay them out side by side...

Or be brave, and cut them up and create the garland that I mentioned in the beginning of this post.

Crochet hats, flowers, owl and sweater

Here are some crochet projects that I have been working on.
I haven't had much time to post pictures, so here they are all at once :)

Some hair clips for a little friend of my girls

A baby hat for a friend

A monkey baby hat

A baby headband with a rose

I used this pattern to make this little owl.
It's simple and cute.

I used the pattern for the body, and then did my own thing for the eyes and beak.

A navy cardigan for our youngest:
(I started out with a pattern, but modified it so much that it turned into my own...)
I really love to crochet.
It's relaxing, and so easy to take with you...
I can't really sit around doing 'nothing', so it's nice to have a 'portable' craft to work on.

Some random projects: crochet baby cardigan, ruffle scarf and vinyl snowflakes

Here are a few projects that I've done recently:

A little crochet cardigan for our baby girl for this spring:

Trying to decide if I like it better with or without the flower.
For a bigger child, I would just attach a pin and make it so that I could take it off, but don't want to do that for a baby...

I love how fast it came together...

For myself, I made this ruffled scarf:

Using elastic in the back, I shirred it.
In the picture below you can see the elastic on the back side.
So easy, just sew straight lines with elastic instead of regular thread on your bobbin.

There may be more of these in my future...

And this is something I did a while ago already:

I made vinyl snowflakes with the Silhouette Cameo.
They looked almost out of place with the weather we had for the last couple months,
but last week, it finally started to look right:

Love the intricate design of the snowflakes.

And decided they'll stay a little longer, even though the snow is gone again.

Who knows, the snow might be back?!

Having fun crocheting

With the weather cooling down,
our youngest needs her hats again!

But she outgrew all the hats I made her earlier.

So it was time to make some more...

I also fancied up some plain hats from the $ store, by sewing crocheted flowers and leaves on them. These are nice and stretchy, so they fit my older girls, who have to be able to wear them over their hair...

Simple and fun...

And since I am still doing the 31-for-21 challenge to raise awareness for Down syndrome ,
just one more picture of our dear little girl, wearing one of her new hats and showing off her beautiful almond shaped eyes :)

Crochet Baby Sandals with Flower

I have been looking at some patterns for crochet baby sandals. I thought they would be too difficult to make, but after drooling over these for weeks, I decided to give it a try anyway.

I bought the pattern from this etsy shop.

It took me more time to make these than the crochet shoes I made, but it was definitely not as hard as I thought it would be. I realized that my gauge was off, so I had to adjust the pattern to make the sole a little smaller as I was going, and this will still be on the big side, but all together I really liked making these!

The bottom of the sole is ribbed.

Another small adjustment I made to the pattern is that I made the straps that go over the toes a little wider, because I prefer that look. (I used a single crochet instead of a slip stitch for the last part of the pattern.)

It would definitely be handier to make these when our little one would be here, so that I could make sure the straps fit right, but I just couldn't resist...

Crochet Baby Hat and Shoes

I just love to crochet things for our little girl who is due in two months!
I have made her a lot of hats already, but so far this one is my favorite.

Basically I just keep trying to see what I like for the hats, so I have no hat pattern to refer to this time, since I basically just made it up as I went.

Then, I decided to try something else, and that is how these little shoes came to be.I did use a pattern for the shoes, just changed the color of the sole and added a flower.

The pattern for the shoes can be found here.

I really like her patterns, and what is even better: she also puts up videos of her making the same thing, so when you get 'stuck' with the pattern, you have a video out there to help!

Flower Baby Hats

We are expecting our third little girl! (And that's why I haven't been blogging as much as usual during the previous months. This time I have felt very tired and nauseated for months, way longer than with my other 2 girls. But the nausea has finally disappeared, and I am not as tired anymore. Hurray!)

I am excited to have another girl, and lately I have been LOVING these cute crochet flower hats that you seem to see everywhere.
So, of course, I had to give it a try, and I have to say: it is pretty addicting!

I am still a beginner, but I can handle some basic stitches. I used this pattern, but I have to say that I have the feeling I am doing something wrong, since I seem to end up with more stitches than I should.
Also, I wasn't quite sure how to make the ruffled edge the way it was done in the pattern, so I just did my own thing. But that didn't keep me from having fun...

I hope she likes to wear hats! :)
